No matter who you are, you are welcome in our Church.

At St. David's Church Holmbridge, you'll be welcomed into our friendly, inclusive environment by people who are glad to see you. This page is to help you get an idea what to expect if you are visiting for the very first time. You should find plenty of parking at the Church Hall, right next door to the Church. A path then connects the Car Park to the Church itself. All you have to do from here is come along and be prepared to be yourself!

At our Parish Communion service, this is what to expect:

  • You will be welcomed by our sidespeople. They are at the door to the main part of Church (inside.)
  • Each service to last a bit longer than one hour.
  • Teaching from Nick Heaton our Vicar, or another leader from our team of local churches.
  • Prayers lead my a member of the church.
  • Enthusiastic hymns lead by our choir (adults and children.)
  • Fun teaching for your kids - we have three different age groups.
  • During some parts of the service, the children will be in the main service. Don't worry if they make some noise - we've all been there!
  • We have communion (also called the Eucharist) together. We walk up to the front of the church and kneel at the rail. If you would prefer to stay where you are, nobody will mind. If you would like to come up for a blessing instead of bread and wine, just bring your service card and we will know what to expect.
  • We have coffee and chat afterwards.

At our Worship Together service, this is what to expect:

  • You will be welcomed by our sidespeople. They are at the door to the main part of Church (inside.)
  • Each service to last a bit under one hour.
  • A shortinteractive talk which is easily accessible for children
  • The children then do craft activities that are linked to the theme of the service - younger children are usually watched over by their parents.
  • A short talk and time of prayer and reflection (aimed at adults).
  • Enthusiastic modern worship songs lead by our music group.
  • We have coffee and chat afterwards.

A chance to belong. A chance to grow together:

We have a vision to 'Praise, Nuture and Serve' God together. We would love for you to take part in the wider activities of the Church. Take a look through our various groups and other events to see what goes on. There are quite a few activities that happen on a weekly basis. We hope you will see that we have a lot going on for a small local church.
